The Fourth Annual West Coast Championship

Clear Lake – August 16–17, 2024

The West Coast Championship (WCC) is a kayak bass fishing tournament, pitting the best-of-the-west against each other for two days on the California Delta. The winner of this elite event gets bragging rights for the entire western region of the United States.

The West Coast Championship is presented by the Western Kayak Anglers Alliance, a coalition of independent kayak tournament clubs in the west. Our affiliated clubs operate kayak fishing tournaments in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Each club is run by local folks who live and breathe the kayak fishing lifestyle. By working together, we are able to bring more opportunities to western anglers.

How does it work?

Each club designates certain trail events as WCC Qualifier Events. There are two paths for a competitor to qualify for the WCC:

  1. Competitors who score in the top 25% of any qualifier event, in any club, are qualified. (e.g. If you place 10th or higher in a field of 40 anglers, you are in.)
  2. Competitors who attend and complete any three qualifier events in a single club (e.g. ABA Kayak Series, OKBF, Yak-a-Bass NorCal) automatically qualify, regardless of their standings rank. Anglers must complete all three events to qualify.
